Sustainability and ESG
Introduction

RBIM Investment Management recognises the growing importance of sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations within the investment management industry. While RBIM does not operate as an ESG-branded solution, we are committed to acting as a responsible discretionary manager by embedding sustainability awareness into our governance framework, investment processes, and fund selection oversight.

Our Position

-
RBIM does not offer a dedicated ESG portfolio range nor promote its models as sustainable under SFDR Article 8 or Article 9.
-
ESG factors are assessed within the context of risk management, long-term value creation, and reputational sustainability.
-
We support advisers who wish to meet specific ESG preferences at the client level, including facilitating access to third-party ESG portfolios via investment platforms.

ESG Integration in Investment Process

RBIM incorporates ESG considerations through:
-
Manager Selection & Oversight: Engagement with underlying fund managers regarding ESG policies and disclosures; assessment of ESG scoring and risk ratings where material to performance outcomes; ongoing due diligence to evaluate whether ESG factors present long-term risks or opportunities.
-
Fund Universe: Access to funds aligned with SFDR classifications where appropriate.
-
Monitoring: Regular review of ESG integration practices among selected managers.

Regulatory Compliance

-
RBIM complies with the UK Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (UK SFDR equivalent) where applicable.
-
Our models align with MiFID II suitability obligations, including ESG preference capture where implemented by platforms and advisers.
-
RBIM supports advisers in documenting client ESG preferences, even where our own models are not specifically labelled as sustainable.

Corporate Conduct & Internal Practices

-
Governance & Ethics: Strong governance culture supported by policies on Conflicts of Interest, Remuneration, and Data Privacy.
-
Environmental Responsibility: Commitment to minimising environmental footprint through hybrid working practices, digital-first operations, and reduced travel.
-
Employee Awareness: Training programmes on ESG principles and responsible investment practices.

Reporting & Transparency

-
Annual review of ESG integration practices.
-
Disclosure of engagement activities with fund managers.
-
Availability of ESG-related information for advisers and clients upon request.

Future Outlook

-
RBIM remains responsive to evolving client preferences and regulatory developments.
-
We aim to enhance ESG integration where material to performance and client outcomes.
-
Exploration of partnerships with ESG data providers for improved analytics.
